Sensor processing for highest demands
The multi-channel solutions for sensor processing are ideal for multi-axis positioning systems from PI. The variety of the supported sensor types (capacitive, SGS, encoders) optimally supplements the flexible drive concept of the E-713 Motion Controller.
Interface to the positioning system
Well-designed connection solutions reduce cabling efforts. If necessary, sensor signals can be digitalized and in this way be transmitted over longer distances. The maximum possible cable length depends on the specific application.
Modular design
The components for sensor processing are intended for use with the modular E-713 Motion Controller. The modular concept makes it possible to assemble E-713 Motion Controllers exactly according to customer requirements. An E-713 Motion Controller controls in a coordinated manner up to 16 axes with various drive types. This involves the use of state-of-the-art control and linearization algorithms. Optional digital and analog interfaces support motion automation.

If a corresponding amplifier module is included in the E-713 Motion Controller, the sensor connector of a module for capacitive sensors or strain gauge sensors also carries the voltage for the piezo actuators of the positioning system.
The E-713.S03CMX digital sensor signal transmission consists of a module that is installed in the housing of the E-713 Motion Controller and of a separate sensor box for installation close to the positioning system. Cables for connecting the sensor box to the module are not included in the scope of delivery as the length of the cables depends on the specific application.
When using the E-713.S18BHX sensor box, the E-713 Motion Controller must include an SPI interface module to feed in the sensor signals. The scope of delivery of the sensor box includes an adapter HD D-sub 26 (f) to DisplayPort socket for the connection to the SPI interface module. The scope of delivery does not include a DisplayPort cable.
The maximum power dissipation of the E-713.S18BHX sensor box is 2.2 W.
Where no specifications have been made on the operating voltage level and connector type or on the power supply and maximum power consumption, the power supply is provided via the housing of the E-713 Motion Controller.

In the case of the modules for incremental sensors, the interpolation electronics automatically adjusts offset and gain for the Sin/Cos sensor signals. The adjustment requires motion across at least 16 signal periods of the sensor.
